About The Company

HOMEQ Corporation, a Canadian public company, is the continuation of Home Equity Income Trust after its conversion to a corporate structure on June 30, 2009. HOMEQ Corporation’s shares are eligible for investment by registered plans, such as RRSPs, RRIFs, and RESPs. Through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Canadian Home Income Plan Corporation (CHIP), HOMEQ Corporation originates and administers Canada’s largest portfolio of reverse mortgages under the CHIP Home Income Plan label. Canadian Home Income Plan Corporation has been the main underwriter of reverse mortgages in Canada since pioneering the concept in 1986. CHIP is the primary provider of reverse mortgages in Canada with a well-established distribution and referral network. This referral network includes all the major Canadian banks, credit unions, mortgage brokers, investment and financial planning firms. The CHIP Home Income Plan offering is a respected financial solution for Canadian seniors aged 60 and over. As Canada’s population of seniors expands rapidly in the years ahead, HOMEQ’s mortgage portfolio is expected to grow. CHIP Mortgage Trust, a subsidiary of CHIP, holds the reverse mortgage portfolio and issues medium term debt to fund the mortgage portfolio. The medium term debt is rated AAA by DBRS Limited, the highest rating available.
